Default Xk8 Badges

Hi,
My XK8 has no Jaguar or Xk8 badges on the rear of the car. Does anyone know of a site that sells them? I have searched on ebay to no avail.

Kind regards
Oliver

Hi ,
For you to end up with the correct badges for your car I would need to know the year of manufacture or the Model year , I have a few badges that may suit depending ,

If I may please jump on this as well.

I have a 97 and the rear badges, (which I assume were bright chrome at one point), are almost black now.

Beautiful women have a hard time telling what kind of car I drive as they pass me and do not give me a second look..in spite of my obvious good taste... this is becoming an issue for me.

Here is a set. It is the slightly newer font they switched to in 2000? I believe. To me, it looks better than the earlier style anyway. A bit pricey, but it's an option:

NEW Jaguar XK8 Badge Trunk Emblem 1997 - 2006 "JAGUAR" | eBay
NEW Jaguar XK8 Badge Trunk Emblem 1997 - 2006 "XK8" HJB5980BB | eBay

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. The car was registered on the 28th of June 1999. I hope this helps.

Kind regards

I have looked at the badges on ebay and they are ouch expensive!. Does anyone know of any manufacturers that make badges for all car models that dont charge the earth?, or does anyone have any they wish to sell?

Cheers

Nik,
Thank you very much for your reply. Yes I would very much like to buy the XK8 badges. both of them. May I ask do you have a paypal account to pay you for them or do you have a preferred payment method instead? May I please ask how the badges are mounted to the car?. Thank you so much again, I look forward to receiving the badges.

Kind regards
Oliver

Default Your winning Jaguar

Nik,
I noted that your Jaguar won the 2011 competition. Do you have any pictures that you can share? I have just bought a gliptone scuffmaster kit to restore the drivers seat back to its factory sprayed condition along with the other seats in the car.

Kind regards
Oliver

Nik,
That is an amazing restoration of the drivers seat. It looks like new, I know that the seats are sprayed and not dyed anymore, but did they replace the leather or re-spray it? It just looks fantastic to be honest. great job done there!

Cheers

Hi Oliver ,
The leather was cracked on my original , didn't look bad in the car but when it was removed from the seat it looked really awful and had the texture of cardboard so Steve got Neil to renew the Ivory leather and tint it down to match the original Ivory as the original is nearly 14 years old and has had 130,000 miles of use and UV light ,

Nik,
Yes I can see from the pictures that the seat looked at the end of its usable life. I have looked at many XK8s and the drivers seats leather in places has not aged very well. Particularly on the offside bolster. And this tends to be regardless of mileage as a number of the ones i looked at were quite low mileage. It seems they wear with time and not just usage. But your replacement looks a great investment. I am restoring my leather and re-colouring later the week so I will let you know how effective the system I have chosen is.

Kind regards
Oliver

Default badges update

Nik,
Did you get the 24 pounds in your account for the badges and other details? I will have to buy some 3m tape, but yay at least the car will be recognisable! As most people ask me what it is!

Kind regards
Oliver.

Nik,
Thats great thank you so much for that. Look forward to the badges. Cheers mate, I owe you a pint!. I painted, fed and conditioned the leather over the last couple of days and to be honest it looks great! I had not really expected too much given the price and concept of the kit, but it really does look like a new interior. When I bought the car the offside bolster looked an expensive repair to me, but at the price accepted the future cost of repair of the leather seemed reasonable for the price paid for the car as a compromise. And the colour matching of the paint is spot on. All the tiny marks on the doors inside panels and centre console are now gone with no sign of any painting or repair. I am seriously impressed. Would recommend to anyone.

Thank you again
Oliver
