Default xk8 fault code help....please

Hi, new to the forum after buying a XK8 recently.

Since purchasing ive had a few problems, some ive sorted and some taking more time and may need help or sound advice please.

On experimenting with the manual side of the gear box the other day i have been experiencing an oil pressure problem, the gauge keeps fluctuating from normal to dropping to no pressure. Oil level appears fine. I believe maybe electrical problem over mechanical!?!

Also getting the following fault code on diagnostic machine - P1024 - feul pressure gauge open?? any quick advice please??

thanks

H

It certainly could be other things, but both those problems have the yellow connector on the main instrument panel in common.

Remove the wood bezel and re-seat that connector a couple of times. If that solves the problem, clean the contacts with some aerosol contact cleaner. Instruction for the bezel removal is here: Jaguar XK8 Instrument Cluster Bulb Replacement - YouTube thanks to Rev. Sam.

Model year?

In addition to WhiteXKR's checks, it's worth looking at the oil pressure switch and harness connector next to the oil filter. This connects the ground input to the instrument cluster.
