The XK8 Lucas on me.

The XK8 Lucas on me.
While I was testing the fans after installing the third fan relay, I went for the key to turn the engine off.
I was sitting on the door frame and felt I didn’t turn the key off properly. I look at the cluster and noticed a couple of warning messages, some being the door and hood open and read one for the traction control.
I decided to turn the engine off, but it wouldn’t shut down!
I try a little white grease thinking the mechanism got stuck and also tried turning the key slowly.
Nothing!!
While turning the key to the off position, when I pass toward the 2 position, I could hear something clicking on the passenger side of the car, maybe a relay?
I could even remove the key, I didn’t try to lock the steering wheel, and the engine would not stop. I tried with the extra keys, nothing.
I disconnect the battery, ground first, and the engine keep on running.
I did a quick glance in the forum and found a suggestion to remove the pump relay, found the location in the manual, trunk box number 4 and I pull it out.
The engine stopped and everything went off.
Went inside for lunch, Cochinita tacos with habanero, lime and purple onion salsa and a blond cold beer.
This has never happened before. What did I do lately?
Yesterday I installed the Discount Car Stereo Bluetooth system (between the CD changer and the radio) and today I installed the 3rd fan relay.
Maybe the ECM got enough with the intruders and decided to Lucas on me?
I decided to replace the new relay with the old donor we installed last.
But I found a procedure to do a hard reset and went for it first.
After a few minutes I reconnected the battery, started the car and it run no problems, then turn off the ignition and the engine turn off!
Any ideas?
I’m a little worried installing the RealGauge, will this interfere with the ECM?

Do not invoke Lucas...
After installing the Real Gauge I went to the trunk to properly connect the battery, placed the floor cover, close the trunk and went inside the cabin and..
All the instruments were lit, like when you open the switch before cranking the engine. Inserted the key, move it and nothing.
Went back to the trunk, reconnected the negative, went back to the car and everything was off, as it should.
Try to start the car and the engine does not turn, I drained the battery.
Over the weekend I installed the blue tooth and he Real Gauge. I only run the engine for maybe 20 minutes to check the temp gauge movement.
Will a low battery cause electrical problems?
I have the battery on the charger and will test it and replace it if necessary.
If is not the battery should I suspect a bad key switch?

The instrument cluster connects to both the CAN and SCP network and acts as an interface between the two. Hence why faults on the instrument cluster can cause chaos in the rest of the electronics. You need to be extremely careful when disturbing the connections.

Changed the battery
We called Autozone ahead to make sure they have a new battery charged and available.
Since is only 5 miles away from home we managed to charge the old battery with a trickle charger. It barely turned the engine enough to start, barely.
In 20 minutes we were driving back home.
There are no current manifestations of electrical issues.
Thanks for your suggestions.
