If you ever get more involved in your car's wiring you'll find that JTIS doesn't include all circuits in its diagrams, e.g the KTM module has a 20 pin connector but only 3 wires are shown going to it. I've had it out and can tell you there's way more than 3 wires in that connector. Same with the center dash switch pack - many more wires than included in the diagrams.
Nissan tried pulling these tricks also but almost lost all of their central and south american sales because they didn't/wouldn't provide information below the dealer level. As a result, their sales plummeted as very few peeps wanted to buy a car they couldn't have serviced except at high-priced, far-flung dealerships. From what I've read in the trade magazines (a number of years ago) it took Nissan a number of years before they had a BFO (blinding flash of the obvious) and changed their policies.

Install completed, finally! I fitted an Infinity reference 8" sub but it was too large to make any sort of enclosure for, as the rubber cover over the magnet was touching the tank pipes! I ended up not liking its sound (too loose and "floppy" bass), so I swapped it for an 8" eminence free-air sub instead. After balancing it all out on the amp I am now happy with the sound. If I could alter one part, it would be to give slightly more midrange towards the front of the car. I may yet move the tweeters from the dash to the doors and put mids in the dash, or I may just leave well alone now, haha. It's a massive improvement over the original at least, and that was my aim, although it still isn't quite as nicely balanced a sound as my chrysler 300c had.... ah well, it's a considerably smaller box which makes for awkward acoustics I suppose....

Yes there is.
I have got an Alpine pxe-h660 in the Xk and have a cleansweep laying around. they both take high level input.
And if it doesn't take high level then the voltage is easily brought down with a set of resistors which I had before with a JBL amp connected straight to the HU.
So there are plenty of options

I personally recommend Rockford Fosgate's 3sixty processors, I have the 3sixty.2, using my old Palm phone as the 'controller', which sits in the boot, packed away, when the system is tuned just right. Their newer .3 version uses more phone platforms than mine.
A small 4-channel amp for those front and rear components will make a huge difference too!
