Default XK8 in winter storage in MN

Hi, I have a '97 XK8. Awesome and I love it. I put it away for the winter today. So I put in a 16 oz can of Sea Foam in the gas tank. I put the car in my buddy's shed. Laid down a bunch of Bounce dryer sheets to repel the mice. Disconnected the battery. Covered the car with a nice cover. Put a blessing on it. Went out and drank a couple beers. Then moved on to wine. Did I miss anything? I would love any advice from any northern Jag owners on what they do when they put their baby away. Thanks in advance.

Change the oil and filter

Fill the gas tank.

Attach a battery tender (not a trickle charger)

Inflate the tires to the max. rating on the side walls

Got number 2 and 4. I have time for the other things, I appreciate the advice. Thanks Mikey.

Def. the Battery Tender. Spring start-up in the Nikisil engnes can sometimes be a problem. Hit me this year after 4 no-problem years. Gus is the man on the forum for the last word if you run into trouble. I would turn the engine over with the fuel pump fuse pulled until you see the oil pressure gauge go up, then replace the fuse and hopefully fire her up. Have a great winter.

PS: Brutal recommends Engine Restore with your oil changes to help with Nikisil compression problems. Good recommendation, his advice is too good to ignore.

Oil change is a must.

A heated shop in your future would be good. Then you can do pitter patter on your girl during the winter months. I love spending time in the shop. Sure beats the old way of doing things.

If the shed is unheated you don't have to worry about mice. If it were me, I'd take advantage of the occasional nice-weather day and take it out for a spin about once a month.

Thanks to all for the advice. If we have a winter like last year I will be able to take it out. No heated shop in my future. And mice do get into sheds in the winter but they will either get hit by the traps or by the D-Con. I am looking forward to spring.

Smile Winter Storage

Good advice from everyone.
I put mine away last month and with the mild weather so far I have had Jag fever, but today the temp was down to 10f above and wild chill -9. Back to reality.
Looking forward to spring!

I'm still driving mine until snow really sets in. I'm getting married and moving early next year, so I'm hoping for a decent day around then to move the Jag to its new winter home. I'm going to need a new battery before winter storage, but I'll put my battery tender on when it finally has to go to storage.

Put mine away Thursday morning while it was nice out and before the snow started flying and the temp dropped Thursday afternoon. Forgot about the tires though.

If possible, you should try to fill the tank with non-oxygenated fuel. See the MN Street Rod Assoc. site for a list of stations:
