Serpentine Belt Pulley Replacements - Exact fit. Dayco 89016
After having the plastic pulley and bearing fail on the serpentine belt spring tensioner on my '97 XK8 out in the middle of nowhere and having the car towed home I didn't feel like paying $100 plus for a new spring idler assembly with another plastic pulley.
I found a $19.99 (even cheaper online) Dayco 76mm metal pulley that is an exact fit for BOTH the fixed pulley by the alternator and the spring tensioner. Its Dayco #89016. These of course have the proper bearing already. Most auto parts stores seem to carry these in stock. Except here they all had just 1 in stock. The list price is $19.99 and as cheap as $14 with free shipping online. Just remember when removing the bolt that holds it to the spring tensioner that it is a LEFT hand thread unlike the fixed pulley. These do not have the lips like the ones on the early MY's had but they are not needed. So you can replace both pulleys and the belt for $60-70 total.
I live in Amman, Jordan and there aren't many XK8s around (the pfficial number is 8 in the whole kingdom!!) which is why I appreciate this thread sooooooo much.

The fuel pump is ultra common, but the plastic harness isn't. Its a little fiddly, but you could replace the pump alone and install it into the original assembly.
I bought mine from a US car parts dealer, most of the cars it fits are Fords... etc. Perhaps the most common is the F150 1997-2004 and perhaps other years.

If you are changing the hydraulic fluid in your convertible top lift system, rather than using Pentosin CHF 11S, which provides one with an unpleasant-smelling "green shower" when a hydraulic hose in the windscreen header ruptures, Bilstein FeBi 02615 can be used instead. It is compatible with the system's elastomeric components and does not have a dye in it. You can buy it online or find it at good NAPA stores in the USA.
This, from the voice of experience. I recently replaced all the original Parker high-pressure hydraulic hoses in my car after taking a green shower. It was quite a painstaking job. Thanks to Klaus Witte at Top Hydraulics Inc. in Florence, OR for superior quality replacement hoses and the best support and communications I've received from any vendor in a very long time.
$5.95 each (free shipping) About 1/10 the retail price of $50!!!!
At a minimum, we need these for our oil coolers and air filter boxes
This is an eBay seller, "Parts4export". Because any particular sale may have ended when go to look for it i won't bother listing the URL. But they call it a, Fuel Injection Air Flow Meter Mount.
Has anyone tried the lower, primary tensioners and guides sold as Ford/Lincoln parts for the
Lincoln LS 3.9 V8. It seems they are very similar and about $100 cheaper?
I just had my injectors refurbished by Keith at "Injector Experts" (419-619-6650). $20 per + shipping. Great guy. Don't hesitate to call. O-rings were replaced as well as the screens. And you get a Before & After performance report card as well.
When I asked about alternate sources for our $200+ injectors, he said Subaru. Probably around $40. He didn't have the exact part number though. If anyone out there has the resources, could you update us with the Subaru part number? 80% off list, is a CHUNK of savings.
I was looking for a more reasonably priced alternative to the Jaguar OEM fuel filter 1X43-9155-AA/C2S20977 and found the WIX 33078 to be an identical replacement to the filter used on the 2003+ XK8/XKR's with the quick connects. It is made in Poland as well so I suspect t may come from the same plant. Its about $10.00 Attached are some pics for comparison. It has good flow specs too.

Reason: update title
I replaced a knock sensor on my XK8 a couple of years ago. I read a thread here where a knock sensor from a XJ6 would work fine and it did. The wires were just a little longer but the price if I remember correctly was around a hundred dollars less. The XJ6 part was around 25 dollars.
