XKR Audio Idea
HI All,
Been reading lots of interesting things about making the audio system better than what was supplied 8 years ago!!
There doesnt seem to be a realistic option of adding bluetooth & ipod capability to the original factory system (which is quite antiquated now). So I have been looking along the lines of changing the whole head unit and having a 'bespoke' surround made.
Therefore I would like some feedback on this idea? The second photo is what it would look like if it was open.
If I can get a system to fit like this then it opens many possibilities. I am also hopefull that I could use the existing steering controls. Maybe using somthing like this http://www.in-car-entertainment-shop.co.uk/caraudiowheelcontrols.htm
Some feedback would be appreciated?

Hey warren, that can be done, i've seen it in person, but the only drawback, as obviously seen is the covering of all those climate controls and auxilliary buttons. I've also seen a car that had the row of aux buttons relocated to the glove box, and an in-dash double din screen put in there. I'd do that before I'd put in one of these motorized units. But that's just me.
You can also do something like the JVC AVX77, getting a little video, ipod compatibility, and of course, a wired mic to go along with bluetooth access. Nav will be the only hiccup there.
