XKR Bank 1 heated sensor Help please.
Hi All,
I've recently bought a 2002 XKR and yesterday the yellow warning light appeared on the dash. Having had the car run through a diagnostic test it has flagged up that I need to replace the "bank 1 upstream heated oxygen sensor".
Jaguar want to charge over £400 for the sensor and fitting. Does anyone know where I can get one of these sensors cheaper?
Cheers,
Ron

If it was me, I would ask them for the part number of the sensor and fitting they are planning on replacing and google them or plug them into ebay. Usually the dealer is very forthcoming with that info. Are you planning on installing yourself then? Always interested in how far a somewhat competent amateur can take these things....

Looking up the online prices of OEM (Bosch) 4-wire, heated, upstream oxygen sensors for the XKR they are in the $120 range. DENSO OEM is almost $300. Generic versions as low as $100.
Somehow I cannot understand the difference in the $50 (Bosch) OEM 4-wire, upstream O2 sensor I need for my Lincoln.
I would suspect the difference is the connector and length of the wires.
Sounds like profit to me.

I had the same problem a few months ago. After a massive Internet search, I ended up buying 2 at Amazon.com for $120.00 including shipping. These were Bosch O2 Sensors with plugs, not the Universal ones that you have to re-wire somewhat. I have a great independent mechanic who installed them reasonably. He did say that they were a bitch to replace as the old ones were so hard to get out.
Good luck!
