I never even gave hoodliners a thought or a glance until that fateful day when I banged into my dirty original which sent me on this "mission" so to speak!

Wish I could have a car worthy enough to show and not drive too much! I do show my Mark VIII LSC but I drive it everywhere!

XKRacer, as a sidenote (and feel free to start a new thread so as not to comingle topics here) we xk8/R owners were looking a couple years ago for strut braces that cross the engine bay. You have a fabricated option for us? If so, please let us know.

I am afraid the proper over the top of the engine strut brace is impossible, there is simply no room under the hood. All you can do is fit the standard type that the convertibles have, it is these I have reproduced in solid, polished aluminium with stainless rose ball joints, all the holes are there on the coupes to have these fitted you just need to make a couple of holes through the plastic cover

The car I am building will get driven a little on nice days but mainly to shows for people to stare at and say 'they want that'!
I think most people have looked through my album but I will add a link HERE

My engine, it has a few more things on it now and is ready to be refitted, I just want to paint the engine bay properly first. Once I have compeleted the engine bay I will start a new thread,

Tony I like the coil covers, do have those for sale ??? If so how much to purchase. I would like a set of those to go with my other upgrades.

Yes they are for sale, they will have Jaguar lazer etched across the top once I am happy, they are made from billet aluminium, there is a rubber O ring on the underside to seal.
They wont be cheap (what a surprise) as they are machined in small numbers but I will give you a better idea once I am happy with the design.

Any updates from those whom I have sent the aircraft firewall material hoodliners? Does anyone need anything or any help?

I installed mine last week. It turned out great. What a nice finish to a clean engine bay. Thanks again Gonzo for the great product, installation was easy.

Hey XKRacer. Just wondering if you installed yours yet? I was interested if you did an 'R' logo and what the final product looked like.

You will have to wait a little longer guys, with the bad weather we have had and now this morning there was a gas explosion on the estate the paint shop is located and is closed off for the time being, lets say I have had a few hold ups.

But dont worry as soon as I have done it I will post it up

I will have in the next 2 weeks, the XK I bought one for is just about to come out of paint, I will then detail the engine bay and your liner will be fitted.

I will post up the pics once it is done

Very, very nice XKRacer---I'm thinking of doing the same thing in the future. I like the red/green colors highlighting the R.

WOW! That looks GREAT!!

Thanks for the pic, and I like how the red and green swatches I sent you complement the silver "R". Remember if it gets any dirt on it you can wipe it with a terry cloth towel moistened with Windex or water, etc and rub in a circular motion.
