Yelp, I love the look and style of the XK8/R body, just what I wanted. And for a lux GT cruizer it does an excellent job. However what I really want is the Jaguar look and style with a true sports car driving experience. I don't track or race in anyway but like the sound and feel of the power and a Manuel shift. Yes I could buy a true sports car but that's not what I'm after, I like something different and that nobody else has. So, if my trans or motor ever take a dump I can see me working on a 6 spd manual trans with a 400 or so HP crate motor. Just a dumb setup with custom ECU so no integration issues. Hot Rod's have been building cars for years with just oil, water and tach gauges. Don't need all this fancy engine/transmission management.

I would love to do this mod. I'll bet it makes the car come alive. But mine is also a hobby car so no extra cash. Besides my wife would be upset because she loves driving it but she can't drive a standard confidently.

Sure, it really comes alive. I have a "special" route on the way home with lots of windy roads with fast stretches. It seems a bit faster but just the increased involvement means that you experience the ride in a whole different way! And pooh the sound when you blip the throttle on the down changes

Thank's Willafizz for your write up

A couple of points I would say, One the gear ratios are more or less the same as the six speed XKR auto other than First which on the manual is a bit higher. I chose this ratio as I felt 1st in the auto was far to low

Second someone asked if we used Aston parts. No I havenot. Aston parts would not be of any use so many parts have been specially made for the job like the Bell housing, Flywheel and peddel assembly, for Right and Left hand drive

Third, we are now working on being able to supply a Servo for the clutch to take some of the weight off the peddel

We also supply the Quaife Limited Slip Diff to also help get the power to the road
Willa fizz already had this fitted to his car before comming in to have the gearbox kit fitted

The KenneBell is already in there .

NOS does interest me but I am afraid of taking it too far and blowing things up! It may come some time - let´s see.

Likewise I also have already installed a KB supercharger

Personally I feel NOS is cheeting, not for everyday use

Contact information for the conversion kit? My '01 XKR needs it desperately.

I think Norman passed away.

There are a tiny number of others who may be able to help if you have a big budget.

It may be that Tom Lenthal (and colleagues) can still provide the manual conversion.
