XKR motor mounts
I need to replace both motor mounts in my 2001 xkr. Has anyone used the mounts from a 2001 Lincoln LS? They look the same and are hydraulic, but half the price. I noticed these when I was removing the timing gear from the LS to use in the conversion of a 4.0 to a 4.2. thanks and wish me luck on this swap. steve

I dont believe so. I think the LS mounts are very similar to the x350/351 mounts and s-type mounts. they have a locating spike at the top and have studs on top and bottom. the x308 and XK8 mounts locate on the bottom and take bolts. I only use OEM mounts: i dont trust the APA/URO rubber at all.

It seems to be hit or miss with the OEM mounts. My 4.2 XKR mounts have 166K on them and seem to be quite fine every time I check, yet I know a gal who's 4.0 XK8 had half as many miles when hers completely disintegrated. (I am not exaggerating here - they were in many, many pieces).
I don't think we can blindly depend on OEM just because it's OEM. My car's OEM fuel filter (with leaper emblem) was made in Poland. Who knows what suppliers Jaguar may have used for motor mounts over 20 years of production.
