Default XKR oil cooler contains no oil

Hi Everyone

I have a question. What would cause an oil cooler to have no oil in it? I removed the oil cooler as it had a seep at the seals and so i replaced the seals but in taking it off saw it was empty any ideas?

Thanks

I don't know the circulation system on the X100 but it could well be that the oil cooler drains back into the sump once the engine stops?

The AJ34 4.2 engine has a valve that stops oil from flowing through the cooler until the oil temp reaches about 225 def F. You would think oil would be present in the cooler though.
