XKR Prop shaft centre bearing
Hi everyone, I have a 2005/6 Jaguar XKR X100 4.2s convertible here in Dubai UAE but....the prop shaft centre bearing has deteriorated and I need a new one. Is there anyone in the world that has access to one as currently I have tried the UK 'Britishparts' and 'SNG Barratt's' to no avail. The car is dead in the water without it and I am desperately trying to source a replacement one. Can I get the bearing or do I need a complete replacement prop shaft and if so has anyone got one.....?
Best wishes,
Geoff

The vanilla answer is that it is all one piece: PROPSHAFT ASSEMBLY
Part# C2N3586
Lists as "Unavailable - No Longer manufactured".
One path is to see if anyone can still locate something like this in new condition, but the retail price was pretty steep.
More sensible option is to find a car being stripped for parts and see if anyone is willing to ship this to you. Some members on this forum have parts cars so maybe someone can help. This is an uncommon failure AFAIK, so unlikely to be a hot ticket in high demand.
Also, you could do some work and try to figure out if the bearing easily comes off, if there are any markings or any hints of brand or model# to find a suitable replacement somehow.
Separately, this ZF 6HP26 transmission was used on a number of cars (check wikipedia for a list), so there is an off chance this bearing could have been used on these other cars as well, even if the driveshaft is most certainly different.
As a last resort, I am sure a functionally equivalent driveshaft could be made by an after market supplier, likely in drag racing circles.
Best of luck, keep us posted.

If ever someone ends up here, it is not necessary to buy the whole assembly, see this thread.
Will solve your problem for a lot less.

Propshaft bearing solution for XKR X150
So I have an answer to the question I posed and it is good news. Yes, you can change the prop-shaft bearing on the XKR X150 without needing the entire assembly as Jaguar will tell you.
I just filled the OEM part from Deutsche Parts (https://www.ebay.com/itm/12316330619...0AAOSwuHFbEBvU) and it is an exact fit. The car is now running smoothly and without issues. So it turns out the forums are correct, the bearings for the XJ series are almost the exact same parts.
That should be a huge money saver for those in need moving forwards. Hope you will be able to help a few people out with this info in the future.
