Default XKR Question

Hello XK owners,

Just visiting here from the X350 forum, so I have a question regarding a 2003 XKR advertised at a dealer in my area. The interior has carbon fiber look instead of wood, except in the center around the navigation screen.

My question is, is this for certain aftermarket, or was there a "carbon fiber" edition of the XKR in 2003?

Thanks for letting me visit. I am slowly being seduced by the possibility of owning an XK in my near future. I'm gleaning a lot of purchasing advise from the posts in this forum.

I saw that one too. It's not a factory job. If you compare it to the 2005 or 2006 Victory Editions, you 'll see the difference.

The factory Carbon Fibre Edition was 2005MY and nothing came out of the factory with a combination of wood veneer and CF on the dash.

Well that's just strange looking....usually the other way around...someone wants to convert from Nav to triple gauge and changes the center section. Maybe the wood was damaged, who knows.

Anyway come on over to the dark side...we have cookies! You'll love an XK8/R

Part of the jpg name is the VIN number. Google that and you'll find more info including the current carfax report. I thought the carbon fibre work looked nicely done except for the missing center dash section.

That's a very unbalanced look that I believe would devalue the car to most knowledgeable XK8/XKR owners/seekers....

Hard to tell from the photo but it appears that the wood inserts on the steering wheel do not match the center dash wood panel, either....
