XKR - Sitting 4 Yrs - Needs Fuel Tank Cleaning and Cam Chain Tensioners2000 XKR 55K Miles. I need guidance on what to drain or replace since car has been in storage with only fuel additive in 2.4 full tank. Battery Tender died and battery needs re-charge, and cam chain tensioner needs replacement. Should I drain tank and all related items ie fuel filters, fuel pump. or should FF, & FP be replaced?
Advice Welcomed including best place for cam chain tensioner replacement. Has anyone done work over at Edmunds near Palm Desert?

Is this car a recent purchase?
How do you know it needs new tensioners? Have you looked to see which tensioners are currently installed? If it does need the latest metal variety, Lincoln LS parts from a Ford dealer or the big auction site are cheaper than anything marked "Jaguar".
Forget the battery. It's toast. Replace it! A new battery will eliminate a sh!tload of problems that can and will occur with a weak battery.
Don't worry about the fuel pumps yet. They may be okay.
Drain the fuel tank and put in some fresh petrol.
Do a major service on the car which is replacing all fluids, air filter, oil filter, fuel filter. Check the belts and hoses for wear. Check the brake rotors/discs and pads. A car needs to go and it needs to stop!
All of the suspension components need to be checked.
Drive it and enjoy it. Don't start throwing parts at it until then.
These are beautiful cars to own and drive.

If the car hasn't been in terrible storage,( hot or humid ) put a new battery in it and drive. I know the alcohol added fuels deteriate quickly, but 4 years in good storage shouldn't hurt anything. And why would the fluids be affected. Unless badly stored? I once stored my Lincoln Mark 4 for 7 years in fairly constant temp dry basement. Jumped the battery and drove with no adverse affects, Fuel didn't even stink. Of curse it was probably leaded premium.
