Update...I googled the tire information above and found a 19 inch spare from a dealer in the UK. I've shot him an e-mail to see if they even make a 20 inch, or if the 19 inch is as large as they go. Since he's selling both the 18 and 19 inch spares for the same price, might as well buy the one closest to my actual tire size...Now, just to figure out shipping on it from the UK! Base price is 98UKP (~$160 or so). So long is shipping is less than $200, I'm ahead of the power curve over the $350 one I found!

I would check the overall diameter of the spare. I've got the 18" and it is a tight fit, if the diameter is larger it would not fit in the wheel well.

I hit a pothole this morning (front tire) and had to use my donut spare. I have 20" Montreal rims, the removed tire fit in the truck with the cover in the top position.
AAA changed the tire but had a hard time getting the tire off, he used a large hammer, wd 40 spare and a little prying to finally get it off. He said that the tire was gashed in the side wall. I hope that's all, will get the rim checked tommorow at COSTCO before ordering a replacement tire.
I will use some anti-corresive lubricant to avoid the tire removal problem.

Also, no tow hook in the otherwise complete tire kit.

Bob-

Sorry to hear about your flat!!!

Since your spare tire is out, can you confirm it's an 18 inch one?

THANKS!

Umm... the rim size shouldn't really matter past being able to fit the brakes. Regardless of the rim size, a 17" or 18" rim, the outside diameter of the tire is what matters. 17" clears non-Bremo brakes. 18" are needed for the Brembo brakes. The rim only needs to clear your brakes. The 18" or 19" should still provide the same ride height.

Dave,
The spare is marked 135/80 R18. The rim fits over the Brembo brakes.

Thanks Bob! Hope you didn't damage the everyday rim!!!

Update again...I found a Jag parts dealer in the UK that would be happy to sell me the correct 18" spare for my XKR for a whopping 38.40 Pounds. I jumped on that like you-know-what...and then he told me they don't ship to the US...darn!!!

Can't you just have Fedex do a pick up? Just tell the guy to hold the tire for you and then have Fedex pick it up. The guy won't have to do any paperwork or anything. And you don't have to have it delivered overnight. They'll just put it on the plane from Gatwick to Memphis, then it will go by truck from Memphis to Norfolk. It shouldn't be that expensive. Give Fedex a call and ask them how much it will cost.
