Thumbs up XKR Steering Wheel restoration

Just wanted to give kudos to Craft Customs in Tx for doing a fantastic job on my XKR steering wheel restoration! The inner rubber was deteriorated, loose and twisting, and the leather was very weather beaten and worn (car was originally from Florida). They rebuilt the inner core and reskinned it. They even replaced the chrome strips which (I think) are unique to the Victory Edition. The stitching work is beautiful and the color matched the airbag leather perfectly.

Below are some Before and after Pics:

Before Picture (you could probably guess)

Restoration and Installation complete!

Awesome. I'm looking at getting this done. Did you ship the wheel to them? What about the airbag? Finally, may I ask the cost (pm would be great)?

Thanks!

I stripped the wheel of all the controls and wiring and shipped it to them. I asked them to match the color of the original leather and also gave them the interior color code for the car. I did not ship them the airbag. Much more comfortable feel to the wheel when driving now too!

That looks fantastic! Wheel recovering is high on my to-do list.

Very nice, when I had my Miata there was a guy in Germany that refurbished steering wheels and he could convert them to a D shape with a flat bottom as well as add extra padding and thumb rests.

That would be sweet on my XK8 if I didn't like the wood so much.
