Smile XKR supercharger idler pulley

Help required!
I have a 2004 XKR with 19000 mls, the bearing on the supercharger idler pulley is making a noise like a dry bearing. I had new belts fitted a month back and that's when it started! Should the pulley be fitted like the one in the photo or the other way around?

Is this the right way around?
Thanks in advance

I'll start to help by moving your question from General Tech Help to XK8 / XKR forum which is the place to post technical questions about your model .....

...... I'll leave it to members here with the same model to answer your question.

In the absence of a single reply from the SC owners, this diagram from JTIS may help identify the pulley orientation:

Hi Bob, not these are tensioner pullies, I was asking about the idler pulley. This is the new one I now have and wanted to know if the bolt should be fitted as in the photo?

They both sit the same way and I think they are the same part. In you picture you have it backwards. The rounded part faces outward.

Looks like Tensioner pulley is ribbed and Ider pulley is smooth ..... although JEPC drawings can sometimes be more "artistic" than "engineering".

Hi Bob, I had this photo sent by another member showing his engine, it shows the pulley fitted the same way as the one I have? This seems to be the correct way to fit it as if you look at the photo of my pulley you can see the bearing will be held against the lip in the pulley bore and the large end cap you can see in the photo of the engine is pushing back on the pulley holding it in place :-) Well, I think so? All good fun.
