This TSB also applies to 2004 models- perhaps all of them. Mine only had a single clamp & the hose blew off.

Photo is distorted. Cut-outs are round. This is the underside view. Other side is black. Made a paper template. Cutting the front part was a little difficult as there’s 2 layers of steel.

This sucker is short & easily holds the end of the dispenser hose.

Kinda worked. Took too long to fill because the o-ring seal isn’t that good. Probably suited best for turkey basting.

Was gonna use this, but push-to-connect adapter was easier IMHO.

Really didn’t want to cut holes- but then never wanted to drop the tank again....ever.

Found this diagram. It’s not for my 2004 X-type which has no connector on the sending unit assy, but good enough.

Arm position after pushing it down. Was if it was stuck in a detent.

Note the position of the float arm. It’s stuck at the 3 o’clock position. Hello. What happens when there’s less than half a tank?

This is the cover over the fuel pump.

Under this cover is the fuel pump. A much thicker plastic ring is used making it easy to remove using a screwdriver & a hammer.
